Selecting a Powder
Selecting the Correct Powder
TCI has a complete range of powder coating options designed for a variety of applications to support your business needs. The following guide is provided as a general approach to selecting the proper product. However, we always suggest discussing your goals with a representative to ensure all requirements needed are being met.
TCI Product Series
With a broad spectrum of colors, gloss, and performance, our powder product portfolio offers the extensive variety needed to fit any project scope.
Formulated for heat sensitive substrates such as MDF, FRP, SMC, etc. • Minimal substrate preheat is required for good application and film build properties • Cure range of 240°– 270°F • Excellent physical and chemical resistant properties, not recommended for exterior applications
Formulated for highly decorative applications requiring superior smoothness and exterior durability • Excellent hardness, chemical resistance, and overbake stability • Broad formulating range and can be used for interior or exterior applications • Ideally suited for automotive parts, appliances, recreational equipment and hardware
Formulated with heat resistant silicon resin chemistry • Excellent adhesion, color, and gloss retention in elevated temperature applications • Formulated to withstand continuous and intermittent service at elevated temperatures on ferrous and nonferrous substrates • Ideally suited for barbecue grills, smokers, boilers, pressure tanks, & motor housings
Developed with TCI’s proprietary resin technology • Provides a broad formulating range for decorative or functional applications that are custom formulated to our customers specifications • Engineered to meet demanding application and performance requirements when conventional technology will not work • Ideal applications include pultrusion, SMC, and
other ferrous and non-ferrous substrates
Formulated to meet many decorative requirements for gloss, smoothness, color and weather-ability • Can provide solutions where TGIC containing polyester or urethane polyesters are not permitted • Excellent transfer efficiency and reclaim properties, not suited for high film build applications • Ideal applications include interior/exterior furniture, lawn & garden, appliances, machinery, sports and playground & park equipment
Has a good balance of physical properties, smoothness and gloss ranges • Has excellent application characteristics that allow for lower film thickness when required • Best suited for interior application and delivers excellent flexibility, abrasion and mar resistance • Typical uses include automotive (functional), exercise equipment, power tools, office furniture, shelving, and display racks
Best suited for applications requiring superior adhesion, corrosion and chemical resistance • Ideally suited for interior applications as they can rapidly lose gloss and begin to chalk when exposed to sunlight • Excellent physical properties such as hardness and flexibility • Typical uses include automotive underbody, corrosion/chemical resistant primers, interior lighting, shelving/racking, and material handling equipment
Can meet many decorative requirements for gloss, smoothness, color, and weather-ability • Formulated for use in interior and exterior thin film applications • Provides excellent film properties such as hardness, adhesion, flexibility, chemical and corrosion resistance • Typical applications include lighting fixtures, automotive trim, interior auto components, home appliances, and interior/exterior furniture
Are considered the workhorse of the industry with the broadest formulating range for color, gloss, and finish • Can be used in interior or exterior applications • Provides excellent flexibility, impact resistance, overbake stability, and application properties • Typical uses include aluminum extrusions, building products, exercise & playground equipment, HVAC, lawn &
garden, light fixtures, heavy duty machinery & equipment • Available in standard and super durable formulations depending on product
Formulated to meet AAMA 2605 & Qualicoat Class 3 specifications using fluoropolymer resin chemistry, products in this series have the highest exterior durability in the industry • Has superior gloss and color retention and come in a variety of gloss levels and colors • Proper pretreatment of the substrate is critical to ensure product performance • Ideally suited for
curtain wall, window, storefront, building panels & siding, and metal roofing*
Formulated using high performance resins and pigments to meet the demand requirements of specifications such as AAMA 2604 & Qualicoat Class 2 • Available in a wide selection of colors and gloss levels •Designed for exterior applications, provides excellent film and performance properties against UV degradation, corrosion resistance, impact and flexibility • Applications may include windows, doors, storefronts, playground equipment, cladding components, park furniture, fences and railings, light fixtures & poles, and metal roofing*
*TGIC-free options are available for 9000 & 10000 series products. All products can be formulated with TruClean ST antimicrobial technology.
