About
TCI

Quality, people, products and service; words that sum up what TCI is all about. Our commitment to these words and the effort required to stand behind them has helped us to become an industry leader in the manufacturing of electrostatic powder coatings. Our guiding philosophy continues to be one of producing great coatings and delivering the highest level of service in the industry to our customers. Our ISO 9001 certification recognizes our effort To Be An Excellent Supplier. Quality is a philosophy all of us at TCI are proud of.

TCI started in 1987 in Ellaville, GA. with not much more than a small plant and a portable building for the offices and a lab. Since then we have grown to more than 130 employees. Our administration offices and laboratory are still in Ellaville. Today we have both a large batch facility as well as a small batch plant that can turn around small orders in as little as a week. We also bond all of our own product in our own facility located in Ellaville. In addition to our operation in Georgia, our Technology Center is located in Jacksonville, FL. This facility keeps TCI in the forefront of powder development and has our own weathering test facility.

Our top sales force reaches across North America and is supported by a highly trained technical service team providing service to large

multinational corporations as well as custom coaters. A network of 15 product warehouses in the United States, Canada, and Mexico ensure that we have stock products readily available when you need them.

TCI became a proud part of RPM, Inc. in 1996. RPM has a diverse portfolio of more than 800 distinct name brand products that sell to a wide variety of end-use markets. As a part of RPM, TCI benefits from this marketing diversity to help smooth the ebbs and flows of economic cycles and provide TCI increased financial stability for the long term. While our efforts have helped us grow and develop strong ties with larger and internationally recognized companies, we still take pride in our being able to supply smaller coatings users with quality products.

Our quality policy is To Be An Excellent Supplier. Being awarded our ISO 9002 certification in October of 1997 is a point of pride that the intended high quality of our products and service is officially recognized worldwide. ISO certification while voluntary provides a benchmark for quality in the way we look at our relationships with our customers and the way we do business. It reflects our desire to exceed our customer’s expectations.

Our documentation process took a little over two years to complete. Starting in early 1995 we had to define the goals of our quality system and compare them to the ones outlined by ISO. In-house documentation of these goals was an important step. During this time quality procedures had to be detailed and employees in all areas of the plant had to be trained and signed off on these procedures. Employee input was valued and used to format the uniform procedures to ensure understanding and continuity in all areas from shift to shift.

The Georgia Institute of Technology guided us through the process helping us to understand our status and make any improvements along the way. In February of 1997 we selected our auditors for certification. Audits were prepared, reviewed and subsequent corrective actions were made over the next eight months leading up to our anticipated success in September 1997. Our certification was upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 in August of 2009. ISO remains with us still-it is a dynamic standard with surveillance audits and on-going refinement. It allows us constantly measure the relationship between our level of quality and service and our most important asset, our customers.
